The 2026 Kanwar Yatra flows through the month of Sawan, and our Mahipalpur shivir opens to receive bhakts through its busiest stretch.
Key dates for Sawan 2026
- 🔱Sawan begins: 30 July 2026 (North-Indian Purnimanta calendar).
- 🔱Our shivir is open: 31 July to 10 August 2026, day and night.
- 🔱Sawan Shivratri (jalabhishek): 11 August 2026 — the culmination of the yatra.
The route past Mahipalpur
Mahipalpur sits on NH-8, the Delhi–Gurugram–Jaipur artery near IGI Airport. It is a natural resting point for kanwariyas from Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan returning from Haridwar — which is exactly why a shivir here matters.
How to find us
Look for the saffron flags and the Shiv Kavar Samiti banner on the NH-8 stretch at Mahipalpur. The shivir runs round the clock — walk in any time for bhojan, rest, water or first aid.
Dates may shift slightly by panchang, but our doors open the moment the first bhakt reaches Mahipalpur.
